Glee in London: The Cast at The Ivy Club, June 2010

I am Charles Pycraft, a London photographer. Glee is coming back. On Wednesday 21 October Disney+ and Hulu ordered a new series of Ryan Murphy's musical show, though no cast or release date has been announced yet (BBC News). So here are members of the Glee cast in London from my archive, the summer the show took off in Britain.
The show
Glee followed the misfits of a glee club at McKinley High in Lima, Ohio. It ran on Fox for six seasons from 2009 to 2015 and won six Emmys (Deadline), and its covers of songs like Don't Stop Believin' still draw around four million monthly listeners on Spotify (Variety).
Ryan Murphy has written a script for the new series with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who created the show with him, and says he has been in touch with around ten of the original cast (BBC News).
London, June 2010
In June 2010 the cast made their first trip to London since the show became a hit, with fans lining the streets outside their Soho hotel (Daily Mail). That week photographers crowded the West End to catch them (BroadwayWorld).
Just after 1am on 17 June 2010, members of the Glee cast left The Ivy Club on West Street. One came out laughing, in black, rolled-up jeans and a long fringed scarf. Another followed in a charcoal jacket and checked shirt, with a magazine in hand.
Sixteen years on, the choir room is about to open again.
