Cover card: What Partisan Does. A field note by Charles Pycraft

Partisan is for teams who reopen files years after the work was done: insolvency, forensic accounting, investigations, asset recovery, and document handovers. This note is the short version of what it does, in about a minute.

What it does

I handle business development and communications for Partisan. Partisan records a file's fingerprint without seeing or keeping the document, gives a dated receipt, and shows a file is unchanged since it was recorded.

How it works

You record a file. Only its fingerprint is taken. You receive a dated receipt, kept separately from your own records. Later, you check the file against the receipt. A single changed figure shows up as a mismatch.

You can get the same fingerprint yourself in CyberChef from the receipt information, so you are not relying only on Partisan for that check.

What it does not show

It does not show that the contents are true, who wrote the file, or when the file was first created. It only answers whether the copy you hold now still matches the copy you recorded then.

Next step

If that is useful for the matters you handle, reply with a type of document you work with and I will send a short video built around it, to watch whenever suits you. You can also read more at partisangateway.com or email me at contact@charlespycraft.co.uk.
